Book Launch: 'Stories of Rio de Janeiro Told by Architects'

Architects Jozé Candido Sampaio de Lacerda and Priscilla Chiesse organized a book with Histories of Rio de Janeiro told by architects, which will be released on December 2nd. The idea was born from each day more, we value our city, mainly through all those who somehow collaborated in making it more beautiful and human. For that, nothing better than the testimonies of some architects who contributed a lot to this valorization.

The book is bilingual (Portuguese / English) and has testimonials from 18 architects with a Carioca soul, and a small tribute to the former mayor and architect Luiz Paulo Conde, with testimonials from 10 architects and also to the architect and friend Bruno Fernandes, who left us some time ago.

Rio is a special city and, in all aspects, living in Rio is a privilege, to be a Carioca is to feel perfectly integrated with your city and to be a Carioca architect is to give more importance to the city and its public and natural spaces is to like “to be always arriving and never wanting to leave”.

The main audience of the book will be architects, teachers, students and historians, and all people who are interested in the city of Rio de Janeiro. The advantage of the book for the reader will be to know the stories of those who somehow contributed to our city being more and more wonderful.
